INSIDER group. ASUS V550CA laptop Graphics adapter driver has the incorrect version. Win 10.updates all have worked and NOT shown any errors (As other people have seen) Current (WRONG) version 10. This is actually related to the Intel Stick.! ASUS Recommended version v10 18 10 33 02 worked on Win 8.1 and 10 is backwards compatible.
The ASUS Driver software downloaded will not run.! The Driver section will not allow 'Rollback' The WIN 10 High contrast is unusable the screen is dreadful. How can I fix this it is getting annoying now.
Hello, Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I request you to try the following steps: Uninstall and Reinstall the appropriate Graphics Card Drivers. Step 1: Uninstall the Graphics Card Drivers. Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.
Click on “Device Manager” from that list. Search for the Graphics Card from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers from the computer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted. After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue. Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website: Step 2: Go to the Computer or Graphics Card manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the Graphics Card model and then install it by following the instructions given in the website. I hope this helps you. If you have any further query in future, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.
Sorry to hear intel driver HD 4000 version 10. Does not work on your ASUS V550CA laptop. I have ASUS K55A laptop. I clean installed Windows 10 10240 build sometime back. After clean install I had just Microsoft HD video. And before I updated my laptop from Windows Update setting, I downloaded Win64 153339.exe file (which is version 10.) from Intel's driver download site and installed it. It works just fine on my laptop.
I have upgrade through insider delivery and have build 10586.17 as my current build. Have you done clean install of Windows 10 recently? JMarco - ASUS K55-A laptop i7 3630QM proc, 16gb ram, intel HD 4000 video, 240 gb SSD, a/c 7260 wifi, W10 Home 3rd party sft-Chrome,iTunes, VLC4.0, Adobe Reader, Speccy,Kindle, firefox beta, netfix.
Thank you for your reply. I tried your suggestion this morning. I now have Driver 10 Which is an old driver.!
However I am MUCH happier, the display is much improved. I will today check what the recommended driver is for WIN 10 from both Intel and ASUS. The thing which concerns me is HOW-WHY MS placed a driver for an incorrect device on my laptop.
The driver which was installed is identified as the driver for the Intel Stick computer NOT an ASUS V550CA touchscreen Laptop. And why did it take the use of this forum to FIX/IMPROVE the situation when the problem is well known on the insider FEEDBACK Forum. So Thank you very much for your input. Regards Stewart.
Hi Jmarco Thank you for your reply. I think I have moved forward see my other reply.
But in answer to your points. I have not done a CLEAN install of Windows 10 I have not had any serious problems which have caused me to think about doing so.
As you know I am on the insider fast upgrade route for builds The problems I have encountered have been relatively easy to fix by re-installing APPS a lot of which were MS Apps, & Google Chrome. I have enjoyed being on the insider group and while I am sure builds could be improved, and having been in the industry since 1968 and involved in OS Design & Development, I know how difficult it is to satisfy all the stakeholders every build. Thank you once more for your input. Regards Stewart. Are you saying intel HD graphic adapter version 10.
Is for Intel stick and not for your laptop? It may be used for Intel stick but that driver is also Intel's recommended driver for many other intel processors that use HD 4000 graphics.
My ASUS K55-A came with Intel i7 processor & HD 4000 graphic adapter installed. The Intel graphic drivers that I download are from Intel driver website for HD 4000 graphics. The Intel driver version 10. Is actually two year old and it is also given as ASUS recommended driver for my ASUS laptop. If you are getting same DirectX performance on W10 with that driver that I get with a newer version then no reason to change.
